Old Fashioned Butter Cake
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. Carnation milk, diluted with 1/4 cup water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
Cream butter and add sugar gradually creaming thoroughly. Add eggs and blend well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Add alternately with milk, blending smooth after each addition. Add vanilla. Bake in 2 well greased and floured 8 inch round layer cake pans. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove and cool.
