Garlic Cream Sauce

1 tablespoon margarine -- butter, or spread
2 garlic cloves -- finely chopped
1 package cream cheese - -- (3 oz), cut into cubes
1/3 cup milk
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
(or 1 tsp freeze-dried chives)


Melt margarine in 10-inch skillet over medium heat. Cook garlic in margarine about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened; reduce heat to low.

Stir cream cheese and milk into garlic mixture.

Cook about 1 minute, stirring constantly, until smooth and hot.

Stir in chives.

Serving suggestions: pour over grilled pork chops.

Yields 6 servings.
