Apple Chutney Sweet

4 cups apples, peeled -- cored and chopped (about 2 pounds)
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup bottled lemon juice -- from concentrate
1/3 cup raisins
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/4 cup chopped onion
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt

In medium saucepan, combine all ingredients; mix well. Place over high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer, uncovered, 30 to 40 minutes, or until apples are tender.

Serve warm or cold. Makes 2 cups. Serves 8
