Apple and Pineapple Chutney

1 kg Cooking apples; peeled, cored & chopped
1 Pineapple; peeled, cored & chopped
1 c Brown sugar
3 ts Chopped preserved ginger
1 ts Ground cinnamon
1 ts Ground cloves
1/2 c Sultanas (golden raisins)
1 ts ;salt
1 c water
1 c Malt vinegar


Simmer the apples, water and sugar for 15 minutes before adding all other ingredients excepting the vinegar. Stir well. Simmer for another 15 minutes, then add the vinegar. Simmer until thick, stirring occasionally. Pour into jars and seal.
