Busy Day Cobbler

1 3/4 oz Butter
3 1/2 oz Sugar
5/8 c Milk
3 1/2 oz Flour
2 1/8 ts Baking powder
2 5/8 c Tart cherries
1/8 c Sugar

Preheat oven to 175 degrees C . Drain cherries, saving liquid. Cream butter and sugar together. Alternately add in milk and sifted dry ingredients. Pour into a buttered and floured casserole dish. Top evenly with cherries. Sprinkle sugar on top and cover with saved liquid/juice. Bake 45-50 minutes.
