Beetroot Chutney

1 kilogram 380g cooked diced beets
700 grams chopped cored and peeled apples
2 large onions diced
1/2 l white vinegar
juice of 1 lemon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
220 grams sugar
1 teaspoon salt


Put apples, onions, vinegar, lemon juice, ginger, sugar and salt in large pan. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 30 minute till soft. Add cooked beets, simmer 15 minutes more. Pour into hot sterilized jars and hot water bath for 15 minutes.
